 Durbin seeks to silence religious freedom commission

We have been hearing a lot about the Muslim Brotherhood lately - and none of it is good news. Get used to it. With the Brotherhood’s ascendancy in the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey and beyond, the world is going to be subjected to a crash course in Islamist supremacism - and what it means for the rest of us.

We were on notice even before the Egyptian elections in which the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) and their allies secured upward of 60 percent of the votes in that country’s new, post-Mubarak parliament - and the murderous violence toward Coptic Christians that preceded them. A reminder came on Dec. 7 when a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit unanimously affirmed convictions of leaders of the MB-associated Holy Land Foundation. The earlier trial in 2008 did much to expose the totalitarian, supremacist nature and seditious objectives of that group, elsewhere and here in the United States.

Notably, evidence introduced (uncontested by the defense) in that case by federal prosecutors established that the Brotherhood has established myriad front organizations, including the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the North American IslamicTrust (NAIT), to pursue what it calls “civilization jihad.” This is a stealthy form of holy war, designed to “eliminate and destroy Western civilization from within … by their hands [i.e., those of the infidels].”

The Obama administration has greatly facilitated the efforts of such organizations to penetrate and influence the government of the United States. To cite but one example, on Monday, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton convened a meeting with representatives of the Brotherhood’s multinational official counterpart, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). As Phyllis Chesler points out in a brilliant essay published by PJMedia titled “The End of Religious Freedom,” the OIC’s stated purpose for this meeting was to counter “media campaigns and fabrications made by some quarters in nonmember states regarding the mistreatment of non-Muslim minorities and communities in the OIC member states under the slogans of religious freedoms and so on.”

Put simply, the Muslim Brotherhood, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other adherents to the Islamist politico-military-legal doctrine of Shariah seek to impose their practice of “blasphemy” laws worldwide. Accordingly, they seek to suppress information that “offends Muslims” or otherwise puts them, their agenda or their behavior in a negative light - no matter how accurately.

Dr. Salah Sultan: Fatwa to Kill Every Israeli in Egypt

Last month Dr. Salah Sultan, a member of Yusuf al-Qaradawi's International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) and the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, declared on al-Jazeera that the IUMS would restore the fatwa they issued in 1994, which stated that "every Zionist who enters Egypt--tourist or not--should be killed."

Despite the importance of this fatwa for Egyptian-Israeli relations, this unfortunately received little attention in Western press. MEMRI did publish a short excerpt of the statements, but I believe there is more in Salah's comments that we should be aware of, namely that this is not about mere retaliation for Israelis supposedly killing Egyptian officers, but rather it is about the desire to destroy Israel altogether.

Aiming to restore the Islamic caliphate, the New York-based Muslim Thinkers Society advocates the extermination of “the Zionist Roaches” by means of a second “Holocaust right on the soil of Israel.”

Based in Jackson Heights, New York, the Islamic Thinkers Society (ITS) – sometimes known as the Intellectual Thinkers Society – describes itself as a group of “like-minded Muslims” who “give public da'wah [proselytization] to society, where we invite the society to [convert to] Islam.” Emphasizing that this “struggle” is pursued exclusively by “non-violent” means, ITS carries out its da'wah activities mainly in the streets of Jackson Heights and in Manhattan's Times Square area. There, ITS members – who are mostly young, second-generation Muslim immigrants of Arab, Indian, Bangladeshi and Pakistani descent – distribute leaflets and hold banners conveying their group's religious message. “This methodology,” says ITS, “was adopted from the [life] of the prophet Muhammad [and his companions who] would constantly ... exhaust all their efforts to give da'wah to the Makkan [Meccan] society to invite them to the [reverence] of Allah.”

Embracing the ideological tenets of the Muslim Brotherhood, ITS is an offshoot of the now-defunct Al-Muhajiroun. ITS also has ties to the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), and it openly supports the agendas of al Qaeda.

ITS's chief objective is “to bring back” the Islamic caliphate that was dismantled in the early 1920s, and to thereby restore a united “Muslim Ummah [community] under one flag, one land, one border, and one leader.” This Islamic kingdom would be ruled strictly by Sharia law and would encompass every nation on earth, including the United States. On March 3, 2011, ITS demonstrators gathered outside the White House and staged a rally calling for the implementation of Sharia in the U.S.  That same month, an ITS webpage featured a doctored photo of a Muslim flag flying atop the White House, with the caption:

The “Grand Jihad” Planned for America

In a secret document, the Muslim Brotherhood candidly spells out its goal of “destroying the Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house.”

In July 2007, seven key leaders of an Islamic charity known as the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF) went on trial for charges that they had: (a) provided "material support and resources" to a foreign terrorist organization (namely Hamas); (b) engaged in money laundering; and (c) breached the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, which prohibits transactions that threaten American national security. Along with the seven named defendants, the U.S. government released a list of approximately 300 "unindicted co-conspirators" and "joint venturers." During the course of the HLF trial, many incriminating documents were entered into evidence. Perhaps the most significant of these was "An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America," by the Muslim Brotherhood operative Mohamed Akram.

Muslim Brotherhood emerging as backer of Islamic supremacist mega-mosque at Ground Zero

Despite the fact that the First Amendment would give the developers of the Islamic "Community Center" in lower Manhattan the legal right to build, some questions are starting to crop up about funding.  Now, we also learn the decision-makers in NYC may apply public funding to the project.  I, for one, am not sure how appropriate it would be to use US Taxpayers' money for the funding of an Islamic Mosque/Headquarters/Gym/Conference Center in downtown Manhattan.

Islamofascism: New dots are emerging from the probe into who's behind the Ground Zero mosque, and the radical Muslim Brotherhood is coming into view.

While a couple of U.S. nonprofits -- the Cordoba Initiative and its sister, the American Society for Muslim Advancement -- are coordinating the New York project, they hardly give the full picture. A Saudi charity has sunk more than $300,000 into ASMA. It's called the Kingdom Foundation -- headed by Alwaleed bin Talal, the Saudi prince whose 9/11 relief check was rejected after he blamed the attacks on U.S. foreign policy.

Bin Talal is a major financier of Muslim Brotherhood fronts in the U.S. His foundation is run by Saudi hijabi Muna Abu Sulayman, who appears on ASMA's Web site as one of its "Muslim Leaders of Tomorrow."

"Her work," according to her official bio, "focuses on increasing understanding between Islam and the West through establishment of academic centers and programs, both in the Middle East and the United States."

Khan is scheduled to visit the UAE from Aug. 29 to Sept. 2, overlapping there with Rauf, for whom it will be the final leg of a three-country trip including Bahrain and Qatar. The U.S. Embassy in the UAE capital of Abu Dhabi has posted on its website an announcement of the impending visit by this husband-wife team. Scottish media has reported on controversy surrounding links between the Scottish Islamic Foundation and the Scottish National Party. According to a report posted on a Scottish news portal:

According to both his Facebook page and to the organization’s website, Saeed is a member of the Muslim Leaders of Tomorrow, an organization jointly sponsored by two organizations headed by “Ground Zero Mosque” project head Fesial Rauf and funded by Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, who has funded numerous projects tied to the Global Muslim Brotherhood.
