Lawmakers voted to end sacred rights
From standard.net

as seen on opencongress.org/bill/112-h1540
I fear we have just crossed the line and buried the remnants of our constitutional republic, which our founders gave us. Senator Orrin Hatch, Rep's. Matheson and Rob Bishop all voted to end our sacred rights: trial by jury, posse comitatus, due process and habeas corpus.U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham: The US is the battlefield.
What do these all have in common? Suspension and death, if the National Defense Authorization Act is not vetoed by the president of the United States.
U.S. Congressman Paul Gosar, R-Arizona, said it this way, "Today, I voted against H.R. 1540, the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 because I firmly believe federal government's constitutional duty to provide for the common defense is not mutually exclusive to upholding civil rights granted to American citizens via the U.S. Bill of Rights.
We as citizens must hold these elected officials accountable and we demand an explanation for their vote, why?
Darryl W. Perry: An Open Letter to President Obama and All Members of Congress
December 18th, 2011
To President Obama and all members of the U.S. Congress,
The National Defense Authorization Act (H.R. 1540) was recently passed through both Houses of Congress, and was signed into law by President Obama. Members of Congress from both factions of the Ruling Party (also known as the Repubicratic Duopoly) claim that the detainee provisions prohibit the military from indefinitely detaining American citizens. However, that doesn’t mean some other law enforcement agency, such as the FBI or CIA, couldn’t eternally jail citizens and resident aliens.
Section 1031(b)(2) “includ(es) ANY PERSON who has committed a belligerent act or has directly supported such hostilities in aid of such enemy forces.”
Jim Babka of Downsize DC asks, “What is a belligerent act? There have been more than 40 cases of alleged terrorist plots that were little more than entrapment, and not actual threats to the American people. The way we read it ANY of these entrapped people, AS WELL AS completely innocent people associated with them, could potentially be imprisoned without due process because of the vagueness of Section 1031. And Section 1032 has NOTHING to do with this, because it only deals with military custody.“
I contend that every one of you should be impeached for violating your oath of office to uphold the Constitution of these United States of America for allowing this and many other pieces of legislation to become “law.”
Though it really isn’t your fault that such legislation passed. I mean, why would you oppose a 900 page bill that funds the military when such horrible provisions are included. I understand that your opponents would then say you hate the troops or some other statement that may not be to your advantage. However, if you would stop putting unrelated items into legislation you wouldn’t have this problem. And if you posted legislation online for at least 7 days before the vote and announced in advance when bills would be up for a vote you would be able to get feedback from the people you claim to represent. However, I realize you aren’t interested in hearing from your constituents; you prefer your constituents to remain clueless about what you’re doing.
I’m sure that many people will be silenced by the possibility of indefinite detention, especially when one considers that the FBI is working with Homeland Security, various State and municipal governments via Fusion Centers issuing “threat assessments” and “intelligent reports” listing people that speak out against the growing federal government as potential terrorists.
I remember growing up being told that this was a “free country” where people had the right to speak out against the government. I was also taught that these United States were founded on the idea of governments are to have the “consent of the governed.” I never consented to a damned thing that has been done by the federal government, EVER.
In closing, I kindly request that you resign your position of supposed authority, as I do not consent to any person or group of persons claiming to “govern” me.

Definition of Congress: A Group of Baboons → via @RightSideNews
close
However, less widely known is a “pride” of lions, a “murder” of crows, an “exaltation” of doves and, because they look so wise, a “parliament” of owls.
Finally, let’s consider a group of baboons. They are the loudest, most dangerous, most obnoxious, most viciously aggressive and least intelligent of all primates. What is the proper collective noun for a group of baboons? Answer: a congress!
Now you understand why our country continues its descent into the abyss of a failing civilization.

The Hoover Democrats of 2011 via @michaelpleahy
By: Michael Patrick Leahy August 06, 2011
Michael Patrick Leahy
At the height of the Depression in June, 1932, Republican President Herbert Hoover decided it was finally time to pay for the additional $1 billion of spending he had persuaded Congress to authorize earlier in the year. The economy was in a downward spiral, having shrunk 20% annually since the Crash of 1929. Unemployment was nearing 20%.
The fiscal year was just coming to an end, and it wasn’t a pretty site. Revenues had plummetted to $1.9 billion, as expenditures jumped to $4.6 billion. The resulting $2.7 billion deficit was the highest in the history of peace time America.
Hoover’s solution for the slide in revenue was to increase income taxes across the board, but especially for the “wealthy.” He persuaded Congress to pass the Revenue Act of 1932 just as the new fiscal year began, and he sat back, waiting for the extra revenues to start rolling in.
Why wouldn’t they?
After all, tax rates for those earning more than $1 million a year increased from 25% to 63%. At every level, the tax code was made “fairer” and more progressive. Estate taxes were doubled, and corporate taxes were also increased.
But a funny thing happened.
Total revenue didn’t increase a penny. The next fiscal year was a mirror of the previous pre-tax increase fiscal year–revenues remained stagnant at $1.9 billion, expenditures were kept at $4.6 billion, and an additional $2.7 billion was added to the deficit.
Barack Obama’s insistence that we increase taxes now on “the wealthy” because “it’s only fair” echoes the rhetoric Hoover used to secure Congressional passage of his ill advised and ineffective tax increase.

What did Congress know about 'natural-born citizen'?
8 tries at eliminating requirement suggests organized strategy in place
By Bob Unruh © 2011 WND
There were eight attempts by members of Congress during the years Barack Obama was developing a power base and running for president to remove the Constitution's requirement that a president be a "natural-born citizen," suggesting an organized strategy, according to a new video.
The video documentary was produced by Carl Gallups, the senior pastor at Hickory Hammock Baptist Church for more than 24 years with a long history of community and law enforcement involvement.
Gallups was a Florida law enforcement officer for 10 years, a youth minister before that and is a national and international youth evangelist with outreaches across the United States and in Canada since 1989. He's also on the board of regents at the University of Mobile and hosts several weekly radio programs in the northwest Florida region.
Documentation for his video comes from a variety of congressional records showing that beginning June 11, 2003, and continuing through the most recent effort, Feb. 28, 2008, there were eight proposals targeting that constitutional requirement.
