Ex-muslim: Islam sanctions honour killings

BBlxSZTL_pc

Religion of Peace "absolutely" santions honour killings.
“It has been estimated that as many as one in three women across the world has been beaten, raped or otherwise abused during the course of her lifetime. And the most common source of such violence comes from within the family. Amongst the most extreme forms of abuse is what is known as ‘honour killing.’

“Most of the 5,000 honour killings reported to take place every year around the world do not make the news, nor do the other myriad forms of violence inflicted on women and girls by husbands, fathers, sons, brothers, uncles and other male – and sometimes even female – family members.

“In the name of preserving family ‘honour,’ women and girls are shot, stoned, burned, buried alive, strangled, smothered and knifed to death with horrifying regularity.

Context of the Verses Makes the Quran’s Message Worse, Much More Barbaric

Context of the Verses Makes the Quran’s Message Worse, Much More Barbaric
by Alamgir Hussain  faithfreedom.org

Recently, I was having a conversation on Islam with an old friend – a top student from the most prestigious Engineering school in Bangladesh – who also holds two postgraduate degrees from two reputed oversees Universities. He is also the most liberal, tolerant and broadminded, yet pious, Muslim friend I have ever known. According to his claim, he has read the Quran carefully, and probably multiple times, in languages he understands.

Our discussion eventually turned to quoting the verses of the holy Quran “out of context” by critics in order to distort its otherwise beautiful message. The sequence of events in the discussion that followed are as below:
My friend:
“Quran emphasize us not to die without believing. To me this means our life is like an exam, where we can perform only within the time period. Once exam time is over, even we realize our mistake we wouldn’t be able to get the credit. Though I don’t believe in typical thought that only Muslim would go to Paradise, there is reason to be worried for a good friend like you. I believe everyone would be fairly judged with respect to their condition and work and will get consequence of their acts. Now with what you are spreading, you should think twice about your understanding. From my position I can clearly see your problems. But I don’t want to start arguing with you as that will not help you. You can help your self with an intension of searching for the truth, by taking a neutral position by reading quality materials that are not written with aggressive and prejudge approach.”

I replied:

You said: “Quran emphasize us not to die without believing.” — This is not true, which you clearly know, if you have read the Quran in Bangla or English — languages you understand. Those, who do not accept Muhammad and Allah:

1. The Quran has threatened them with grievous punishments (in numerous places);

2. It has called for their ethnic cleansing (59:3-4: “And had it not been that Allah had decreed “banishment” for them, He would certainly have punished them in this world: And in the Hereafter they shall (certainly) have the Punishment of the Fire. That is because they “resisted Allah and His Messenger”: and if any one resists Allah, verily Allah is severe in Punishment.“), and;

3. The Quran has called for their summary execution, if the rejecters in question are polytheists (Q 9:4-5: “Except those of the idolaters with whom you made an agreement, then they have not failed you in anything and have not backed up any one against you, so fulfill their agreement to the end of their term; surely Allah loves those who are careful (of their duty). So when the sacred months have passed away, then “slay” the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.), and much more.

This is but a small sample of the Quran’s troublesome aspect, which any sane reader can grasp, even if read with least attention.

From here, the discussion turned to “quoting verses out of context” by critics of the Quran.

My friend wrote:
In general, most of misconceptions about Quran are quoted out of context. For example when you were quoting from Chapter 9 verse 4-5, you are ignoring just next verse – 6, which not only asking to grant asylum for Pagan but also to escort to secure place (9:6 “If one amongst the Pagans ask thee for asylum, grant it to him, so that he may hear the word of Allah. and then escort him to where he can be secure.”)
I wrote:

Your complaint is may be true! But let us discuss that.

I was actually planning to write an article on accusations by Muslims that critics and ex-Muslims (out of their hatred for Muslims) deliberately distort the message of the holy Quran by quoting its verses in out of context. I have myself received and seen the complaint on numerous occasions and places. Last week, I published an essay in somewhereinblog.com, and one reader reacted to my reference to atrocities commanded in verses 9:4-5 in the exactly the same words you have written: “you are ignoring just next verse – 6, which not only asking to grant asylum for Pagan but also to escort to secure place…” It seems like the same person made both comments, or it was copy-pasted from the same source. Anyway, your complaint of me engaging in deliberate distortion of the meaning of verses 9:4-5 prompted me to complete the article on the “context issue” with your comments included. I will start with it first. But let me warn you that some of the conclusions about the Quran I have drawn below may sound harsh, but I hope, you will agree that they are logical and justified.
I myself used to engage in this “context” game-playing when I was debating with critics of the Quran some 9-10 years ago by copy-pasting comments from pro-Islamic sources. Then, I didn’t yet have a good reading of the Quran. But when I started studying the context of those troublesome verses deeply, their meanings turned out even more horrible than what they apparently meant when context is not taken into consideration.
Now, you talked about context of verses 9:4-5, but you yourself didn’t give its context. Instead, you cited another verse, the next verse. How can one verse of the Quran be the context of another? What will be the context of verse 9:6? Verse 9:7?

Context is the circumstance or background under which a statement is made or an action undertaken. According to Quran 85:21 & 15:9, verses of the Quran were written by Allah (probably before the creation of the Universe), and a copy of the Quran has been preserved in heaven since and for eternity. And they are supposed to be the guide to life. If Quranic verses are just the contexts of each other, where do we find the guide to our life in the Quran?

Ideally, the Quranic verses cannot have any context whatsoever, because Allah didn’t write them on the backdrop of particular circumstance, experience or background. However, each verse of the Quran has indeed its context, because, as I had said in one of my early messages to you, that they were simply devised by Muhammad in the context of situations, aspirations and desires of Muhammad’s life. And you can get much of the known contexts of Quranic verses in the Tafsirs, hadiths and Muhammad’s Sira. And when you read those contexts, the meaning of most verses appears even worse, which you will realize from this discussion itself.

Allen West: "Ever since Muhammad left Mecca and took his Hijrah to Medina there was a violent turn to this faith that is called Islam...."

... And we must confront that and we must understand that."

Exactly. That is the truth that must not be spoken (except we do anyway): Muslims who undertake violent jihad to advance the cause of Islam do so following the example of its founder. On so many issues, from jihadist warfare to antisemitism to child marriage, the heart of the resistance to reform is the example of Muhammad himself.

Denial is not reform.

Obama and Islam

homelandsecurityus.com

The U.S. is in trouble – deep trouble. Ten years after Muslims attacked our great country, the majority of people still do not understand the threat that Islam represents. They do not understand that Barack Hussein Obama is a “closeted Muslim” who has done more to advance Islam inside America than any other president in history. They don’t understand that Sharia gives non Muslims only three-(3) choices: convert to Islam, be subjugated to Islam through humiliation and degradation, or be exterminated at the hands of Muslims.

To hear the plain truth about the goals of Islam in the U.S. and throughout the world, listen to this absolutely stunning interview with Iraqi exile and former Muslim IQ. Al-Rassooli.  Please do yourself and your fellow citizens a favor by spreading this interview across the Internet.

This is the interview that Muslims do not want you to hear.

DTN: Supporting Al Qaeda, in a NYC Borough

By Discover The Networks

Aiming to restore the Islamic caliphate, the New York-based Muslim Thinkers Society advocates the extermination of “the Zionist Roaches” by means of a second “Holocaust right on the soil of Israel.”

Based in Jackson Heights, New York, the Islamic Thinkers Society (ITS) – sometimes known as the Intellectual Thinkers Societydescribes itself as a group of “like-minded Muslims” who “give public da'wah [proselytization] to society, where we invite the society to [convert to] Islam.” Emphasizing that this “struggle” is pursued exclusively by “non-violent” means, ITS carries out its da'wah activities mainly in the streets of Jackson Heights and in Manhattan's Times Square area. There, ITS members – who are mostly young, second-generation Muslim immigrants of Arab, Indian, Bangladeshi and Pakistani descent – distribute leaflets and hold banners conveying their group's religious message. “This methodology,” says ITS, “was adopted from the [life] of the prophet Muhammad [and his companions who] would constantly ... exhaust all their efforts to give da'wah to the Makkan [Meccan] society to invite them to the [reverence] of Allah.”

Embracing the ideological tenets of the Muslim Brotherhood, ITS is an offshoot of the now-defunct Al-Muhajiroun. ITS also has ties to the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), and it openly supports the agendas of al Qaeda.

ITS's chief objective is “to bring back” the Islamic caliphate that was dismantled in the early 1920s, and to thereby restore a united “Muslim Ummah [community] under one flag, one land, one border, and one leader.” This Islamic kingdom would be ruled strictly by Sharia law and would encompass every nation on earth, including the United States. On March 3, 2011, ITS demonstrators gathered outside the White House and staged a rally calling for the implementation of Sharia in the U.S.  That same month, an ITS webpage featured a doctored photo of a Muslim flag flying atop the White House, with the caption:

ISLAM: THE FUTURE OF AMERICA
COMMUNISM IS DEAD
CAPITALISM IS DYING
ISLAM=THE ONLY SOLUTION
DEMOCRACY IS HYPOCRISY
RULE BY DIVINE LAW
NOT MAN-MADE LAW

US troops in Mideast told to abide by sharia law during Ramadan

Didn’t critics of anti-sharia laws, including Muslims, swear that sharia law only applies to Muslims? Religion of intolerance. If it ain’t halal, they don’t tolerate it. via Troops in Mideast given guidance on Ramadan – Middle East – Stripes.

As Muslims prepare to observe the holy month of Ramadan with fasting and prayer, U.S. troops across the Middle East are being reminded to respect the customs of the societies around them. Among the guidelines: Do not eat, drink, smoke or chew gum in public during the daily fast, and dress appropriately: no shorts or short skirts.

During Ramadan, which this year begins Aug. 1, Muslims refrain from eating or drinking between sunup and sundown.

Among guidance issued to U.S. military deployed in Muslim majority countries, the Bahrain-based command of U.S. Navy 5th Fleet posted guidance for sailors and their family members to heed during Ramadan when off base.

U.S. personnel are not expected to fast during Ramadan, but community members must refrain from eating, chewing gum, drinking water, smoking or chewing tobacco in public during daylight hours, according to 5th Fleet. “‘In public’ includes riding in a bus or car (even your own), walking or exercising,” according to the 5th Fleet’s Facebook page. “Eating, drinking or smoking by a non-Muslim in public during the day is considered a civil offence by many local laws, which may result in a fine or confinement.”

Alcohol consumption by U.S. military personnel in any off-base venue is prohibited during the holiday, with the exception of USO/MWR facilities, private off-base dwellings, or hotel rooms occupied by troops who are transferring or on a business trip.

Shorts are prohibited while off base during Ramadan as well, according to 5th Fleet, and women are required to wear pants or skirts long enough to cover their knees when seated.

Fifth Fleet spokesman Lt. Frederick Martin said this week that the command sends out Ramadan guidance annually.

“When in public, both in Bahrain and elsewhere in the 5th Fleet area of operations, Ramadan brings increased cultural and legal restrictions, which we, as guests in these countries, are expected to adhere to,” Martin said in an email.

In Kuwait and Qatar, U.S. 3rd Army provides training to troops, and also instructs them not to eat, drink, smoke or chew tobacco while off-base, spokesman Capt. James Sweeney said in an email.

“They are also warned that these actions are punishable under local law,” he said.

Bin Laden and the Eternal Hydra of War

Raymond Ibrahim

As we ponder the significance of Osama bin Laden's death, it is well to reflect that Islamists are not the cause of hostilities; they are but symptoms of a much greater cause. Individually killing them off—which is nice—is like a doctor temporarily treating a sick patient's symptoms without eliminating the cause of sickness. Ayman al-Zawahiri, now al-Qaeda's de facto leader, once summarized this phenomenon well. Asked in an interview about the status of bin Laden and the Taliban's Mullah Omar, he confidently replied:

Jihad in the path of Allah is greater than any individual or organization. It is a struggle between Truth and Falsehood, until Allah Almighty inherits the earth and those who live in it. Mullah Muhammad Omar and Sheikh Osama bin Laden — may Allah protect them from all evil — are merely two soldiers of Islam in the journey of jihad, while the struggle between Truth [Islam] and Falsehood [non-Islam] transcends time (The Al Qaeda Reader, p.182).

Islam

Posted by Elohim-Reigns at 11:41 PM

Islam (Arabic: الإسلام, "submission (to the will of Allah") has long been considered a monotheistic faith–one of the Abrahamic religions, and the world's second-largest religion. Followers of Islam are known as Muslims. Muslims believe that Allah revealed his divine word directly to mankind through many prophets and that Muhammad was the final prophet of Islam.

In Arabic, Islām derives from the three-letter root Sīn-Lām-Mīm (س-ل-م), which means "submission; to surrender; to obey; peace". Islām is a verbal abstract to this root, and literally means "submission/obedience," referring to submission to Allah.

There can be little doubt that one of the most contentious propositions that may be encountered across the broad spectrum of Muslim-Christian debate is the suggestion that, rather than being the omnipotent God of creation, the God of Abraham, the sole and all-powerful Ruler of the universe, Allah might merely be instead the evolutionary development of a native Arab god from being a high god in a previously polytheistic, or at best henotheistic, religious environment to being the monotheistic deity now worshipped by over a billion Muslims the world over. As a theological system, Islam has invested quite a lot of emotional and spiritual capital into the belief that it is the final revelation of Allah, the return to the true religion of the only God from the apostate departures which are represented by every other system on earth. Therefore, any suggestion that the god of Islam may have merely been elevated to his present exalted status from a previous position of being one among many in the pagan system found in the Jahiliya, the so-called “Times of Ignorance”, will naturally meet with a negative response from Muslims.

News Flash 4 Daisy and Rauf

Yep, she calls it Hate of Muslims
I would like to make a few points, after listening to Daisy Khan's statement
"It's not even Islamaphobia. It's beyond Islamaphobia. It's Hate of Muslims."
First of all, Americans don't "Hate" Muslims. Americans don't hate Jews. Americans don't hate Hindus. Americans don't hate Mexicans, Africans, Irish, Italians, Chinese, Russians, Cubans, Swedish, Canadians... No, it's not the people that we struggle with, Rauf and Daisy. It's the ideology, the behavior, and the impending questions that don't have acceptable answers that bother us.

For instance, take the Islamic concept of taqiyya,
"Taqiyya" literally means: "Concealing, precaution, guarding.” It is employed in disguising one's beliefs, intentions, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions or strategies. In practical terms it is manifested as dissimulation, lying, deceiving, vexing and confounding with the intention of deflecting attention, foiling or pre-emptive blocking. It is currently employed in fending off and neutralising any criticism of Islam or Muslims.[1]
Now, given the fact that it is perfectly acceptable to lie, and knowing this, tell us, please, Rauf and Daisy, how are we supposed to even believe a single thing you say?

No, it is the ideology, not the people that we struggle with as Americans.

For instance,

Maharishi Swami Dayanand Sarswati (1824-1883), the great sage, rational reformer and the founder of the Arya Samaj discussed Islam in details and finally concluded:
“Having thus given a cursory view of the Q'uran, I lay it before the sensible persons with the purpose that they should know what kind of book the Quran is. If they ask me, I have no hesitation to say that it can not be the work either of God or of a learned man, nor can it be a book of knowledge. Here its very vital defect has been exposed with the object that the people may not waste their life falling into its imposition.”

“The Quran is the result of ignorance, the source of animalization of human being, a fruitful cause of destroying peace, an incentive to war, a propagator of hostility among men and a promoter of suffering in society. As to defect of repetition, the Quran is its store.”[2]
I believe that, your statement, "It's Hate of Muslims" is a total lie. You don't really believe that any more than you believe your "Community Center" is intended to foster peace and understanding. Of course, we actually have no way of "knowing" what it's purpose truly is since it is perfectly okay for you to lie to us. You see, it is that aspect of Islam that we Hate. We Hate the lies, not the people who say them.

It is for this, among other things, that Islam is simply not an acceptable ideology in the US.  Why? Because, Americans prefer to hear the Truth, and to know we can count on the Word of the person who gives it.  It is our word that defines us as a people. It is liars who are un-American, not those who question ideas, ideologies or statements given. If we are known as someone who lies, we are referred to as liars.  If we speak the truth, we are know as one who speaks the truth.

We don't Hate Muslims. We Hate the lies.

Walid Shoebat translates Imam Rauf interview

Imam Faisal Rauf
h/t Atlas Shrugs

WEBTODAY EXCLUSIVE (August 24, 2010)-- QUESTION: Who really was speaking on that historic day of June 4th 2009 in Cairo, Egypt? President Obama or the Imam of the proposed Ground Zero Mosque, Feisal Abdul Rauf?
ANSWER: Feisal Abdul Rauf! Link to audio of Rauf's admission:

Former PLO Terrorist, Walid Shoebat (Shoebat Foundation) obtained this shocking audio recording of Rauf's own voice boasting in Arabic that Obama’s historic Cairo speech was provided by the Imam and the Cordoba Initiative in what the Imam called “The Blue Print” which he said was the solution to the Islamic-American divide. Rauf claimed Chapter 6 of the Imam’s work engineered by the Cordoba Initiative was the construct for the entire speech:
“This is an example of the impact of our work in a positive way to be used by the President.”

"The blue print," Rauf elaborated, included everything from U.S. policy to Jewish and Christian relations with Muslims.
For an Imam in New York to be involved in the orchestrating U.S. foreign policy is quite the claim. In the recording dated February 5th, 2010 Rauf boasted that:
“We have to look at it [as] how to engineer solutions. At the Cordoba Initiative we think of ourselves as an engineering shop. Yes. We have an analytical approach. Our work has been that. IN THE BOOK CHAPTER 6, I WROTE ABOUT THIS BLUE PRINT as to WHAT HAS TO BE DONE BY THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, what has to be done by the Jewish community, what has to be done by the Christian community, what has to be done by the Muslim community, what has to be done by educators, what has to be done by the media. For example, IN MY BOOK IN THE ARABIC VERSION page 293, what did I write? WHAT ARE THE THINGS THAT THE UNITED STATES NEEDS TO DO. IF YOU EXAMINE THIS CHAPTER YOU WILL FIND THAT THE OBAMA SPEECH IN CAIRO WAS ALL TAKEN FROM THIS SECTION [Section 6]. When you do a job that is very complicated. You ask yourself, what have you accomplished. All these problems can be solved but requires the will to solve it. It requires political will, resources and the right focus. The signs of how to go to the moon was known 200 years ago, but the political will and financial will for it happened during 1960-1961. When John Kennedy said that we will send an American to the moon before the end of the 60’s, he established the financial resources and the political will.”

Here is another video (Memri),
"Feisal Abdul Rauf, Imam of Planned Islamic Center Near Ground Zero: One of Our Goals Is to Make People Understand What Islam Is," where Imam Rauf speaks in his native Arabic language, with translated text provided. He talks about widespread ignorance about Islam. He says, "9/11 was not an Islamic action".
