All 5 new hires to the Justice Department's Coordination and Compliance Section have far-left resumes — which were only released following a PJMedia lawsuit. (This is the seventh in a series of articles about the Justice Department's hiring practices since President Obama took office. Read parts one, two, three, four, five, and six.)

For several weeks, PJMedia has been publishing a series of articles on the ideological and partisan histories of attorney hires into the career civil service ranks of the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division in the Obama administration. The articles have demonstrated the political and ideological litmus test being employed by those entrusted with hiring in the Division.

Every single new attorney hired has a history thick with left-wing activism.

Two previous pieces focused on the Voting Section, with additional segments on the Office of Special Counsel for Immigration-Related Unfair Employment Practices, the Special Litigation Section, the Education Section, and the Employment Litigation Section.

Obama Appointee has "special relationship" with Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner

On September 17, 2010, President Barack Obama appointed Elizabth Warren to be his special assistant in charge of organizing and establishing the

CFPB

in this role, Warren would also serve as a special advisor to Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner. Senate approval was not needed for this appointment, though it would have been required if Obama had named Warren to be CFPB's Director; Obama was aware that the Senate was unlikely to have confirmed Warren for that post. Following Warren's appointment, Republican Congressmen Darrel Issa (CA) and Spencer Bachus (AL) sent a letter to the White House requesting more information about what they called an “unusual arrangement” that was “undermining congressional oversight.”[1]

Congresswoman Ann Marie Buerkle (NY-25) asked Elizabeth Warren if the rules that the CFPB intends to impose will raise compliance costs on businesses, or raise the costs of credit for consumers?

On Friday, July 8th, the Department of Labor reported that the economy added only 18,000 jobs in June, far worse than anticipated. Congresswoman Buerkle questioned whether, given the low rate of job growth for June, we want to continue to overburden our job creators or raise compliance costs?

“My purpose in questioning Elizabeth Warren was to let her know that we are going to be watching her and the CFPB very carefully. We will make sure that they do no not create more bureaucracy and regulatory red tape to further burden our businesses.” Buerkle said.

“The horrific June job numbers are strong indication that this economy is not recovering. The last thing our job creators need is further government regulation impeding growth.”
