"It's not about charity, it's about justice." —Bono
17 The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written:
18 "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor." (Luke 4:17-19, from Isaiah 61:1,2)
So, where IS the "church leadership" in addressing our growing set of social, economic, moral, spiritual, physical crises? Is anybody going to stand up or are you going to continue to roll over like scared sheep? It really is not about your weekly attendence numbers guys. It's about what Jesus commanded us to do. That is what Bono meant about justice. I realize you will not like hearing this, and it sickens me to be saying it, but, can you honestly say I am wrong here? Just asking.... Tweet
