State Department: Military should free Mursi, Muslim Brotherhood prisoners

At the State Department's July 12th press briefing, spokesman Jen Psaki made it clear that the Obama administration wanted the Egyptian military to release ousted president Mohammed Mursi, who has been under house arrest since being removed from power on July 3rd.

Psaki's argument was that Mursi's arrest was 'politically motivated'. Yet, the military only acted when tens of millions of people took to the streets and demanded Mursi step down and would not.
